When we checked in for our flight to Phuket, the boarding passes which were printed had the wrong destination on them. No problem; the check-in attendant just crossed out the wrong destination and wrote in the correct one. I considered crossing that out in turn and writing “Hawaii” instead, but Sara convinced me that it wouldn’t work.

mmm, we love rambutans. also been enjoying longans, mangosteens, really good watermelon and the occasional sapodilla. there were also some new, mysterious fruits on a lovely plate in our room last night--we'll try them out today and see how they go.
oh man, we just arrived at our final stop, and the rooftop pool and waterfall jacuzzi from that last resort no longer impress us. (some of the rooms here have their own rooftop pool.)
We should have included a #11 on our list "When eating exotic fruit stick with Rambutans".
Hope that you are feeling better Sara! We're enjoying your travel logs and can't wait to see you when you get back :)

Rooftop pool? Waterfall jacuzzi? Remind me why I came home early...
Glad you're feeling better, Sara. As I recall, the evil jackfruit was also what made my throat close up in Bangkok. I think the smelly and much-maligned durian is getting a bad rap, whereas its innocent-looking cousin is getting away with murder.
Happy kayaking.
On second thought, I should have let Ron try the Hawaii thing. We arrived in "sunny, tropical" Phuket to find ourselves in some of the coldest, rainiest and windiest weather we've had yet. Our hotel has a beautiful rooftop pool and waterfall jacuzzi, but we could only stare at them longingly through the wind and rain. :( Hope the weather clears up for our three days of kayaking tomorrow! (p.s. I've finally recovered from the EVIL jackfruit.)
